Parent & Caregivers
Parents, caregivers, and family members of LGBTQ+ youth often need support from their peers in order to best support their youth.
Parent + Caregiver Group
We are excited to welcome back our Parent + Caregiver Group, a safe and nurturing space designed specifically for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ youth. Our mission is to empower families through community, education, and advocacy, ensuring that every parent feels equipped to support their child’s journey.
Areas of Focus:
Supporting Your Youth: Engage in discussions about how to encourage your child's identity and expression. We provide resources, tools, and shared experiences to help parents navigate conversations about sexual orientation and gender identity with empathy and understanding.
Side-by-Side Support: Learn strategies for being an active ally in your child’s life. We’ll explore ways to foster open communication and build resilience, ensuring that your child feels loved and accepted while navigating their unique challenges.
Advocacy in Schools and Legislation: Equip yourself with the knowledge to advocate for inclusive policies and practices within educational settings. We will discuss how to work alongside educators and administrators to create safer, more affirming environments for LGBTQ+ students, as well as how to stay informed and engaged in legislative matters that impact LGBTQ+ rights.
Supporting Each Other: Build connections with other parents and caregivers who share similar experiences. Our group offers a judgment-free zone where you can share your challenges, celebrate victories, and lean on one another for emotional support.
Join us as we create a community of understanding and empowerment, ensuring that both you and your LGBTQ+ youth feel supported and celebrated. Together, we can forge pathways to acceptance, love, and advocacy for our children and their futures.
