Looking Forward

Enhanced Financial Management

In a concerted effort to enhance financial management practices, we have decided to onboard new bookkeeping services and add fractional CFO services. This strategic decision aims to streamline financial processes, optimize resource allocation, and develop future financial goals and income strategies. By leveraging specialized expertise, we are poised to make informed decisions and maximize the impact of our financial resources.

Risk Management Assessment

In collaboration with Capital One's Risk Management team, we are currently undergoing a pro bono risk management assessment to identify, mitigate, and track potential risks to our organization. This invaluable partnership has enabled us to gain insights into emerging risks and implement proactive measures to safeguard our operations and assets. 

Focus on Youth Participation and Diversity

We are proud to report continued high youth participation, notably witnessing an increase in our Youth of Color group. Racial equity remains a strategic priority for our organization and with that lens we have been working to maintain our commitment to Black and Brown youth throughout this transition. Our youth initiatives remain central to our strategic priorities, driving impactful change and empowerment within our community.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to further strengthening our organizational capacity and impact. In the next two months, we will prioritize board development initiatives to enhance governance and leadership capabilities. These strategic endeavors will enable us to chart a clear path forward and realize our vision of creating lasting positive change in our community.

The period since January 2024 has been marked by significant progress and transformative change for our organization. Through concerted efforts to reconnect with donors and funding partners, stabilize finances, and strengthen operational practices, we have laid a solid foundation for future growth and sustainability. As we continue to prioritize youth participation and diversity, we remain steadfast in our commitment to driving meaningful impact and advancing our mission. With strategic partnerships and initiatives on the horizon, we are poised to build upon our successes and unlock new opportunities for positive change.

We are so grateful for our community while we navigate this time as an organization. It is with your support that we can continue to show up for Virginia's LGBTQ+ youth and provide them the space to belong and flourish.
