Side by Side works with schools across the state of Virginia to support as many LGBTQ+ youth as possible. GSAs (Gender and Sexuality Alliances) are usually LGBTQ+ centered clubs at middle and high schools. We can help those in existence, or help you get one started at your school. Our school support program is flexible to meet the needs of your specific school culture.

We can:

• Help navigate starting a club at your school

• Come and speak to your GSA

• Provide guidance around activities for students

• Advocacy support in your school for LGBTQ+ student needs

• Ensure your GSA is plugged into statewide advocacy and support networks

• Provide Side by Side materials (stickers, buttons, etc.)

• Help you answer any questions a student may have about LGBTQ+ experiences
